What is a personal reward menu?
A reward menu is a short list of optional celebrations you want to use when you finish a defined amount of a goal. The useful version links every reward to an action and a finish line. Instead of a vague promise to treat yourself later, you have a plan such as five project sessions followed by a chosen movie night.
This builder creates that plan. It is different from our reward chart generator, which prints a weekly task grid. Use this page to choose the reward; use a chart or a card to record completed actions. The personal reward system guide explains how to put the pieces together.
How to use the reward menu builder
- Choose quiet time, a creative activity, or time with people.
- Select free-only suggestions or include paid ideas with a spending cap you decide yourself.
- Choose the amount of time you can make available.
- Select a suggestion or write a reward in your own words.
- Name one countable action and choose five, ten, or fourteen completions.
- Add the plan, then print your menu. You can keep up to eight plans.
The suggestion times are planning estimates. Travel, preparation, availability, and your preferences can change them. Paid suggestions do not quote prices or convert currencies; set a real budget before choosing one. A free idea can still need equipment you already own or an available library service.
Pick a reward that supports the goal
For a reading goal, an hour choosing your next library book may feel more relevant than a generic shopping reward. For a personal project, a favorite film or time with a hobby can provide a clear celebration without adding another project. Choose something for your own tastes rather than what looks impressive on a list.
Keep meals, sleep, ordinary breaks, and essential care outside the system. The menu is for optional extras. If you need more ideas, browse the reward ideas for reaching goals and type one into the custom field. A plan you do not want to use is worth changing.
Choose a reachable milestone
Five completions can be a useful first trial for an action you do only twice a week. Ten may fit a more frequent action. Fourteen is another option that fits a Punchcard card. These numbers are choices for planning, not promises about how long habits take to form.
If you want to compare cadence and a deadline, use the goal pace calculator. If you need somewhere to record the repetitions, print a punch card template or create a card manually in the app. This website does not automatically import your menu into Punchcard.
Printing and optional browser saving
The printable contains the goal, completion target, reward, and blank punch spaces for every plan. The suggestion controls and navigation are hidden when printing. Use the browser print preview to choose paper size and check whether a longer menu needs more than one page.
Saving is off initially. Turn on “Save my menu on this browser” if you want to return to it here. It does not sync between browsers or devices, and clearing browser data can remove it. Turning saving off removes the saved copy while keeping the current menu on screen. The clear button removes both the displayed menu and its saved copy.
For a household or classroom, compare reward chart formats before choosing a menu. For a group task, agree what a punch means and make sure everyone wants the reward. A clear action and a small finish line matter more than adding more items to the menu.
A small goal on your home screen
Create a separate Punchcard goal manually and choose a reward. The app offers widgets and shared Group Cards for up to four people; browser tool data is not imported.

Is the reward menu builder free?

Can I choose only free rewards for adults?
Yes. Free rewards are the default. You can also write your own reward rather than choosing a suggestion.
Does the tool save my reward menu?
Only if you enable browser saving. Turning it off removes the saved copy; the clear button also empties the displayed menu.
Does the builder create a card in the Punchcard app?
